It’s like you spend a second too long staring at Beyoncé’s baby-less belly and suddenly, out of nowhere, Kate Winslet comes trampling out of nowhere announcing she’s expecting.
The Oscar-winning actress confirmed to People that she’s having a child with her husband Ned Rocknroll.
It’ll be the 37-year-old’s third child (she has a daughter from her first marriage; a son with her second husband director Sam Mendes); for Ned, this is his first.
“Kate and Ned are delighted” about the news, a rep for the couple told the magazine.
Unlike Halle Berry, this isn’t exactly a surprise pregnancy for Kate. She always had plans to expand her nest of two kids, revealing to InStyle in 2006, “I’m hoping to have more kids.”
It’s way too early to be getting ahead of oneself and already inquire if she’ll be having a second child with Ned after this one, but there’s definitely a possibility.
In that same interview she said, “I don’t know whether one or two. Oh, God, I would love to have more.”
Kate and Ned (who is the nephew of Virgin mogul Richard Branson) got married sometime in December 2011 during a hush-hush ceremony just months after dating that fall.
