Lindsay Lohan Escapes Rehab for Another Week

Like the velociraptor from Jurassic Park, Lindsay Lohan is one clever girl.
After all, this isn’t the first rehab rodeo for this Marlboro cowgirl.
Even before checking in to her court mandated 90-day rehab sentence (which legally began this morning), she’s already got the whole process on a frayed leash, pulling its unraveling strings as she puffs away at a cigarette.
Girl needs that cigarette.
Lindsay’s managed to forgo a week of rehab treatment, technically speaking.
She may have checked-in somewhere to honor her sentence, but it's already causing some drama, naturally.
Because the center she spontaneously switched to—from Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach, New York to Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, California—doesn’t even have the license required to rehabilitate residents, reports TMZ.

It was suspended in 2012 by state investigators.
Although at least nine families of former patients have sued the facility, Judge Jim Dabney has agreed to let Lindsay carry out her rehab there…for now.
He’s giving prosecutors a week from Friday to further investigate if it's still an acceptable choice.
Prosecutors aren’t letting Lindsay take the reins and run the show so easily. Santa Monica City Attorney Terry White, who didn’t even know of the last-minute change until yesterday through the media, is already concerned about just how legit Morningside is. Needless to say, it doesn’t appear to measure up to the same standards as the pre-approved facility they had already consented to in New York.
Now, another lack of attention to legal documents and following directions — Lindsay showed disregard for her check-in time by apparently not even showing up at Morningside when her lawyer Mark Heller said she would. She was at a Fry's, wearing 1 of the 270 outfits she had packed.
