Shakira Leaving 'The Voice' To Spend More Time With Son

The revolving door of celebrity judges over at “The Voice” this past year has left us dizzier than any of its revolving chairs.
Is Shakira being replaced with Christina Aguilera, who left last season to promote her album Lotus? Or is Shakira exiting on her own accord?
We caught up with the Colombian singer, who recently welcomed a newborn baby boy with partner Gerard Pique, and she told us her son Milan is the reason she’s decided to abdicate her chair.

“[Milan’s] been a trooper,” Shakira tells Ct9. “He’s been traveling so many long hours. That’s why I can’t really do next season. He deserves a break and to give him some time. He has to stay at home for a little bit and I also have to get back to my musical career.”
Motherhood itself has been a juggling act for the singer and she feels it’s best for her to focus on her family and music again.
“It’s not easy [motherhood],” Shakira adds to Ct9. “You know, when you are working so many hours a day—he is such a nice baby. He is so mellow and very alert and very chill at the same time.”
