Report: Brooke Mueller Wants Custody of Kids for Cash

 

Before Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller’s legal teams arrive in court this morning, here’s your update on the proceedings.
Brooke is seeking to make her brother the guardian of her two 4-year-old boys, who are currently under the care of Charlie’s ex-wife Denise Richards, so she can continue collecting her monthly child support.
There’s a lot of money at stake here ($55,000 a month in child support checks from Charlie) if Brooke is able to make a case that her brother should get temporary custody while she sobers up at the Betty Ford Center.

Sources tell TMZ that Denise has “written proof” in the form of text messages in which Brooke makes it explicitly clear that “she wants and needs those monthly checks.”
In the expected back-and-forth arguments on this issue, Brooke’s lawyer will attempt to turn the tables on Denise and accuse her of wanting the money ultimately. But TMZ’s insiders state that Denise hasn’t asked for a single cent during this entire ordeal.

The two kids’ best interests are at the center of this debate and there’s no way they’ll be back with Brooke until she can prove herself to be a responsible guardian. She’ll need to sober up and that could take anywhere up to a year, perhaps longer.
