Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to Trademark Baby Name

If it’s good enough for Blue Ivy Carter, then it’s no surprise that Lil Kimye will follow in her entrepreneurial footsteps.
Reportedly taking a page from Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s copy of What To Expect When You’re Expecting: Celebrity Edition, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West want to kopyright their baby's name.
While the gender isn’t confirmed, according to insiders not only are they planning to file a trademark by this summer, but you can also expect it to be a girl’s name as the two are having a daughter. After all, their guess is as good as anyone’s (50/50).
“Kim and Kanye are extremely business-minded,” a source told The Sun, “but the decision to patent their baby’s name also comes from their protectiveness about privacy.”

Now, this part is news to everyone who has access to the Internet: Kim and Kanye are protective about being private.
Not news, is that both have successful business empires and are well-versed in trademarks and copyrights. This isn’t their first time cooperating with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
“There are always people keen to capitalize on the Kim and Kanye names,” the source added. “This means that they could control anything to do with their [rumored] daughter in the future.”
Of those possible business ventures, it could be anything from fragrances to baby strollers. Considering Kim and Kanye’s passion for fashion, the most obvious choice would be luxury haute couture for newborns and toddlers.
