Miranda Kerr Reveals Why She Left Victoria's Secret

It's official: an Angel has fallen.

Miranda Kerr has confirmed her wings have been clipped from Victoria's Secret, but reveals that it was her own doing—no one else's.

"This is a natural evolution," she told The Sydney Morning Herald. "The thing is, I've been modeling since I was 13. I'm now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realized I needed to prioritize my time."

In addition to her two-year-old son Flynn, Miranda really does have her hands full. She's got a second book coming out soon called "Empower Yourself." She has a skin care line called Kora Organics. She's also covering campaigns for Qantas Airways, fast fashion retailer Mango, and more.

"I'm not in a position to commit to a full contract at this time," she added. "It's three months at a bare minimum."


It's a sentiment that corroborates Victoria's Secret's chief marketing officer Ed Razek who said in a statement this week that Miranda's international commitments have kept her away from the lingerie label more than they'd like.

"We have no plans to stop working with her," he said of the firing rumors. "In fact, I've already invited her to walk the runway in this year's fashion show and, happily, she's agreed."

As with most business negotiations, it's all a matter of semantics. She may not be a Victoria's Secret Angel anymore—which would contractually oblige her to adhere to the shooting schedule of its campaigns and accompanying promotional tour dates for its inventory of products—but she'll still be dipping into their closet now and again.
