Jennifer Love Hewitt recently said she wants to insure her boobs for $5 million, because that’s normal.
Before
we laugh it off as a bizarre and fake thing to do, we found out that
J.Love isn’t the only person to insure her appendages for stupid amounts
of money.
We did some research on this outlandish trend of
insuring body parts and discovered that it’s usually just an
over-the-top PR stunt and that no insurance payout on body parts has
ever been reported.
The Boobs:
Dolly Parton is the first celeb to get her “girls” insured at the high price of $3.8 million.
Holly Madison
insured hers for $1 million, using the rationalization, “If anything
happened to my boobs, I’d be out for a few months and I’d probably be
out a million dollars. They’re my primary money makers right now.” She
is 100% right about all of that.
Madonna, even though she doesn’t have fake knockers, also insured her breasts for $2 million.
The Legs:
Rihanna’s legs are worth $1 million, supermodel
Heidi Klum’s
are insured for $2 million, who joked that her left leg isn’t worth as
much as her right leg. She explained how leg appraisal works,
“Basically, I was in London, and I had to go to this place where they
check out your legs. They would look at them and I had one scar here
from when I fell on a glass, so this [left leg] isn’t as pricey as this
[right] one.” Tina Turner’s legs are worth $3.2 million, which explains
why she was always showing them off in short-short dresses.
Mariah Carey also insured her legs for $1 Billion, which really was a marketing stunt when she became the new face of Gillette.
Soccer studs
Cristiano Ronaldo and
David Beckham also insured their prized stems, Ronaldo took out a policy for $144 million and David Beckham did for $70 million.
The Butts:
Jennifer Lopez was the first star to make having a huge a*s cool, so she insured her derriere for $300 million.
Kylie Minogue, who has a very normal sized tush, insured hers for $5 million.
The Smiles: We’re not even sure what insuring your smile means. Is it the teeth? The lips/teeth combination?
Julia Roberts’ smile is worth $30 million and
America Ferrera’s
toothy grin is insured for $10 million. But, just like Mariah Carey,
America’s insurance policy was all for publicity for her endorsement
deal with Crest.
The Voices:
Rod Stewart insured his entire voice for $15.5 million but
Bruce Springsteen only specified that he wanted to insure his vocal chords for $6 million. So, do they get a payout if they sing off-key?
