Report: Jason Segel Seeking Help for Alcoholism

So much for Alcoholics AnonymousJason Segel attended a 12-step support group meeting in California, this according to a RadarOnline plant who doesn't understand the definition of that second "A."

They're reporting the 33-year-old actor's attendance as "a desperate bid to save himself" following his surprising split from Michelle Williams.

"I have been sober for 12 days," Jason told the other attendees. That was on March 2, just days after the news of his separation with Michelle.

According to a source there, "He told everyone it's time that he stops drinking, for good."
It's been well over a month since that initial meeting and Jason hasn't exactly been in the news for boozing, so we can only hope that things are going well for him.

Jason stayed for over an hour and listened attentively to the stories others in attendance, Radar's source added.

It's a familiar trope of comedic actors over the years in the entertainment industry—stars who we recognize as affable on the screen, while battling darker, less funny problems in their personal lives. Jason's Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star Russell Brand is also a recovering alcoholic who has attended AA.

If this is the help Jason needs to set himself on a healthy path, we're glad to see him taking the initiative
