It was super glitz and glam at Jessica Simpson's baby shower yesterday.
All her BFFs turned out for the expecting mother at LA's Hotel Bel Air. We're talking co-pregnant bestie CaCee Cobb, her sister Ashlee Simpson, celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, actual celebrity Jessica Alba—oh, and there was an unborn baby too.
If
the traditional trajectory of a baby shower is to be believed, then
forget everything you knew about Jessica's first 14-month-long
pregnancy, because this one baby is arriving soon.
The
attendees sat around antique wood tables and benches. They ate simple,
non-fussy comfort food like pigs in a blanket, mini sliders, and a
salad. The theme appeared to be "rustic country chic," or possibly
"foods that Jessica Simpson can pronounce."
Jessica's expecting a
boy, so displayed at the entrance was a "child-sized, royal blue
antique-style car," just in case any of the guests forgot its impending
gender and had to exchange something at Toys R Us real quick, which just
meant more pigs in a blanket for those who played it safe with a
gender-neutral Easy-Bake Oven. Score.
Was the party a success?
The mother-to-be-again appeared to think so. "Jessica looked so happy
and content with her family and friends around her," the source added.
"She had the biggest grin on her face."
