Lea Michele Didn't Know Cory Monteith Relapsed

Following the coroners’ report of Cory Monteith, many are still reeling from the tragedy, especially his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele.
“Lea has been inconsolable,” a source close to Lea told Us Weekly. Lea also “didn’t know” about Cory’s relapse and was as shocked as anyone else that the cause of death was a heroin overdose.
“She’s been talking with Cory’s family the entire time and wants to plan the whole funeral,” another source shared, alongside the late actor’s family in Canada.
“It’s an absolute mess,” the same source added. “It’s just devastating, tragic news. A lot of his friends in L.A. had no idea how bad his drug use was. Everyone is still shocked beyond belief.”
Lea’s best friend—Broadway star Jonathan Groff—rushed to her side to console and support the actress. As soon as he heard the news, he flew to be by her side. “His heart is broken for her,” a friend said, “and he loved Cory too. The three of them would hang out together.”
A support system is exactly what Lea needs as she goes through the grieving process. Planning the funeral will also help her cope, according to Dr. Sharon Fried Buchalter, clinical psychologist to the stars. “Healthy ways for Lea to cope with his death would be to face reality,” she advised, like, “attending the funeral, getting details about what happened.”
