Following “confirmed reports” from E! on Friday that the singer is fulfilling the destiny we’ve recently thrust upon her—to basically get pregnant with her second child as soon as like, yesterday—the singer had some fierce words of her own to throw into the rumor mill.
Before we even had a chance to pair our favorite colors with various herbs and spices to guess what new plant species she’d be giving birth to in 2013, Bey shuts it all down (kinda-ish) with a single Instagram post.
Here she go: “I can’t stop the rumors from starting, and I can’t really change peoples minds who believe them, all I can do is sit back and laugh at these low life people who have nothing better to do than talk about me.”
The removed Instagram post prospers on in screenshots and gives us much to contemplate. Once you get past its off-Bey-brand aesthetics (um, not handwritten?) and trenchant word selection (“low lives”?), and while she doesn’t refer to what “rumors” exactly, it’s clear she’s upset about SOMETHING.
Her husband Jay-Z has also spoken up as well, denying the baby number two "confirmations." In an email to Hot 97 radio he reportedly writes, "It's not true. The news is worse than blogs."
Personally, we’ll believe Beyoncé is pregnant when Beyoncé announces she is pregnant because rules are rules and that's what law-abiding Beyoncé-ians do. Also, let's be trill here: What we’d really care to know more about is when she plans to give birth to her next album, because that's a project way overdue.
