Jennifer Lawrence Indirectly Calls Lindsay Lohan an 'Idiot'

It’s time to play "Twist that Celebrity's Words"…
Jennifer Lawrence took home a Golden Globe in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category on Sunday for her performance in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook. But it was her speech while accepting the award that has caused the most attention.
“I beat Meryl!” she proclaimed into the microphone upon reaching the stage.
The remark seemed to poke fun at the decorated and—frankly—untouchable actress Meryl Streep, who was nominated in the same category for Hope Springs. Streep stayed home on awards night, recovering from the flu.
But what Lawrence actually meant by the seemingly offhand comment was a nod to 1996’s mediocre-at-best comedy First Wive’s Club… Duh, people!
She explained the reference during a post-Golden Globes appearance on the “Late Show With David Letterman.”
“I was like, is that what this turned into," she said? "I don't like Meryl Streep? As if I've had my eyes on getting that girl forever and I was like, ‘Finally! I knew it would happen one day!’”
One of the people who contributed to the collective viewership gasp that Lawrence was referring to was none other than Lindsay Lohan
The Liz & Dick star, who was not invited to Sunday’s event and instead spent the evening live-tweeting her thoughts on the NBC telecast, wrote on Twitter: “no1 should ever mess with a legend, such as Meryl Streep.”
Lawrence continued in the interview, telling Letterman that the confusion resulting from her speech was frustrating…
“I wanted to make a public statement,” she said. “Like: ‘Hey idiots, it's a quote. From a movie!’”
Sorry, Lindz… That includes you.

And in case you are one of the “idiots” that hasn’t got around to seeing First Wive’s Club yet either, here’s a janky YouTube video that features the scene being quoted:
