Britney Spears Under Fire For Being a Bad Mom (Again)

Now that Britney Spears is a total soccer mom, she’s really giving the Parent Teacher Association a run for their money.
All she does these days is simply cheer on her sons’ teams from the sidelines while scarfing down bags of Cheetos and wearing turtlenecks she bought at Chico’s in 1999. While that’s all very like, “God, mom, you’re super embarrassing me!” it’s nothing to dial Child Protective Services over.

That is until Britney let her six-year-old son, Jayden wave a large toy gun around like some six-year-old that hasn’t read the New York Times recently. Earlier this month, during a family stay at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, California, Jayden was photographed aiming the toy gun at fellow hotel guests.
“As parents, it is our responsibility to set a good example for our children, and as a celebrity parent, it is especially important,” Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (MDAGSA), scolded.

With all the tragic shootings reported nationwide, the topic of gun control is at a fever pitch and especially polarizing.
“Jayden was photographed not just playing with any toy gun. It looks like an assault weapon,” Shannon clarified. “It is very disappointing to see Britney allowing her son to play with such a violent toy.”
In Britney’s defense, a source has spoken out, calling this a non-issue.
“Britney’s been justly criticized for some lapses in judgment as a mother, like driving around without securing her kid in a car seat,” a source close to the singer said. “But if letting a boy play with a toy gun is bad mothering, there must be millions and millions of bad mothers in America.”
The nonprofit gun control group would probably agree with that “millions and millions” figure considering they see it as their mission to educate the public on the subject.
As for Britney, she better get her mom act together before they start doubting her commitment to Sparkle Motion.
