Justin Bieber was booed when he accepted the “Milestone Award” at the Billboard Music Awards last night.
So, Cee Lo Green announced Justin’s name as the winner and Justin (dressed exactly like Kanye West, by the way) marched to the stage amidst cheering and everything was fine. But as soon as he had the award and looked out at the audience, the cheering immediately turned to booing.
Instead of trying to talk over the roar, Bieber’s smile quickly turned into a hard frown and he awkwardly had to wait what felt like FOREVER for the booing to stop. Even Cee Lo looked pissed.
In a very tense tone, Bieber tried to reason with the audience, “I’m 19-years-old. I think I’m doing a pretty good job. This is not a gimmick. I’m an artist and I should be taken seriously. This other bull should not be spoken of.”
The whole thing was pretty unbearable to watch. Despite the fact that Bieber was wearing a full leather outfit, sunglasses (indoors) and generally looked like a douchebag, we actually feel pretty bad for the little guy.
Nobody should be booed for a full two minutes when they're trying to win an award.
