Carrie Underwood is donating $1 million to tornado relief efforts in her native Oklahoma.
The country singer will give proceeds from her recent tour to the Red Cross.
“I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness,” said Underwood in a statement. “With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornados.”
Underwood was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and raised in rural Checotah.
On Friday, details were announced for fellow native Oklahoman Blake Shelton’s “Healing in the Heartland” benefit concert, which will air next week as a live telethon on NBC.
