UK born actress Geeta Basra is likely to play the lead opposite Santhanam in the South remake of Son of Sardaar. Santhanam is a star in South and had roped in a North Indian actress, Vishakha Singh in his previous flick. But this will be a first for Geeta when she starts working in the South film.
“Yes, I have been offered the Son of Sardaar (the Hindi version of Maryada Ramanna) remake. Talks are in the final stages but I'm most likely to do it. I have worked with Rajiv Menon for a jewellery ad but I haven't done much in the south so far,” said Geeta. She further added that she isn’t familiar with Santhanam’s work but she has heard that he is a star there and has a great sense of comedy.
An insider revealed that Geeta will be finalised for the movie once the comedian meets her. Currently she is in London and everything will be decided after her return.
