I’d like to begin by noting that this promo for The Vampire Diaries‘ fifth season actually came out Aug. 30, but it was a holiday weekend, so I wouldn’t blame you if you missed it. And even if you saw it, it’s full of so many mind-blowing surprises, it’s worth a re-visit. Let’s begin with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), who have definitely been enjoying their summer together.The couple — I know, it feels weird actually referring to them as a couple after all this time — swaps “I love you”s at the start of the promo, but things quickly go south from there.
Katherine & Silas: Hot New Couple?
We next see Damon interact with Katherine, who has clearly not had such a great summer, as she’s far from her usual glamorous self. But that’s nothing a bath — and a hot exchange with Silas (Paul Wesley) — can’t fix, right?Yes, friends, you read that correctly. Silas, still masquerading as his perfect-haired doppelganger, invites himself into Katherine’s bath. And from the looks of things, she isn’t exactly about to kick him out.
Jeremy Gilbert: Human Hunter?
Of course, the promo isn’t all hot and heavy; there’s also a quick shot of Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) back at Mystic Falls High School — and kicking some serious butt.I don’t know what I’m more excited to find out: Who he’s beating up, or how he’s going to explain to everyone at school that he’s suddenly back from the dead. (Methinks there will be a lot of compelling done on his first day back.)
