Miley Cyrus Getting Heat for Drugs & Strippers

The new Miley Cyrus track, “We Can’t Stop,” dropped yesterday and it’s a doozy.
We’re talking about ecstasy, strip clubs and cocaine—Miley hits all the controversial bases in her new single with lyrics like, “So la dad a di we like to party / Dancing with molly,” “To my homegurls here with the big butts / Shaking it like we at a strip club,” as well as “And everyone in the line in the bathroom / Trying to get a line in the bathroom.”
Dorothy, we’re not hopping off a plane in LAX with a dream and a cardigan anymore.

Miley’s had a mixed reaction to the song so far. Some critics are bashing her for being a bad role model, while others are praising her for taking a risk with her career and producing edgier projects.
Those expecting another “Can’t Be Tamed” club banger can’t be anything other than disappointed, however, considering “We Can’t Stop” is more of a pop anthem that sounds hungover, rocking a groggy vibe that makes you sway more than dance.
It’s a new direction for Miley’s music, which we should’ve seen arriving a mile away; she’s drastically de-Disney-fied her look in the past year and this is the soundtrack to every crop top and shaved buzzcut.
